The Friends of the Jeudevine Memorial Library

The Friends had their first meeting in January 2002. They began to promote the mission of the library as a cultural and educational asset to the community. They help the Trustees carry out their objectives volunteering help when requested and assisting to raise funds for non-budgeted items and projects that help make the library more successful.

Raised $300 for $1200 grant for books from the Children’s Literacy Foundation twice

First Annual Scrabble Tournament
Children’s programs: magic show, puppet shows, storytellers, musicians

With the Trustees raised $7,500 to match a grant from the Turrell Fund for a Youth Services Librarian, then raised $3,000 for the next year’s grant, then raised $5,700 for the current grant. The library just received its fourth grant from the Turrell Fund and must raise another $5,700.
